Enrollment and events

Information about the new HR plan

Starting January 1, all Classified staff and A&P faculty can access personalized information about the new HR plan at my.vcu.edu. Log in to review the following and, if applicable, enroll online:

  • Your position within the new job structure
  • The corresponding market pay range
  • A link to a side-by-side comparison of your current plan and the new HR plan
  • Your eligibility to elect the Optional Retirement Plan, if applicable
  • A link to the online enrollment system for eligible classified staff

Enrollment information

Classified staff hired to positions posted before July 1, 2016 have the option to enroll in the new HR plan or remain Classified. Enrollment runs January 1 - March 31, 2018. If you are unable to use the online enrollment system, please contact your HR Professional or VCU Human Resources for a paper enrollment form.

Reconsideration process

If you have concerns with the placement of your job in the new structure, your manager and HR Professional are your first points of contact. They can help explain the rationale for your job title assignment. If, after speaking with your local resources, you continue to have concerns regarding either the Job Family assignment, or the Job Series assignment, please complete the job assignment reconsideration formChanges that can be requested with this form:

  • A reassignment of job family (e.g., from General Administration to Financial Services)
  • A reassignment of job series (e.g., from Administrative Coordinator to Executive Administrative Assistant)

Level changes within a job series (e.g., Office Manager 1 to Office Manager 2, or Office Manager 3 to Senior Office Manager 1) cannot be requested using this form. These requests are considered at the department/unit level by your unit's leadership and HR professional. Requests for reconsideration must be submitted no later than March 15.

Q&A pop-up sessions

VCU Human Resources will “pop up” in central locations across both campuses. We’re currently working with your local HR professional to schedule these sessions. See the calendar to plan a visit to a pop-up session near you.

One-on-one information sessions

Your best resource for questions about the new HR plan is your local HR professional. However, starting in January, VCU Human Resources representatives are available for one-on-one information sessions. These appointments can be scheduled online and are available in-person or by phone. Book a one-on-one information session.
